Water under the bridge, 2018, Tony Kearney [installation] and Ian Gibbins [soundscape]
The eigth in a series of exhibitions that explore the digressions and tangents of a single-word elemental theme, this year BRIDGE comes to you from inside both the Packing Shed and the 1850s Hart’s Mill. The exhibition once again opens up a parts of these Inner Harbour Mill buildings that have been inaccessible for decades.
This exhibition has us bridging time, gaps, cultures and differences, connecting between two adjacent elements and between the seemingly incompatible. The bridge of the nose, of a ship, of glasses, of a guitar, the bridge too far or too burnt, we bring you our take on the word BRIDGE. We are a collective of contemporary artists who have previously brought you the award winning series RUST, SALT, TAR, SMOKE, KNOT, GRIT and GRAIN. We get together once a year to produce work to a single word theme that has some association with the elemental and physical nature of the Port where the exhibitions take place. And we enjoy what we do. |
